FFX-3 Speculation and Developments / it's been a while
« on: August 01, 2017, 08:57:13 pm »
hey everyone
i had forgotten about this site until i got the ffx itch this summer and it led me back through the novella and audio drama
even though it's been a while i am still excited at the possibility for an ffx-3
experiencing everything again about the story made me remember the fun and buzz here when things first started coming out
and the work, too
chercheur and crystal did great work all for their love of the games which i feel wasn't appreciated as much as it deserved in hindsight

but i wanted to put it out there that i still am hoping for an ffx-3
if anybody else out there is too, you're not alone
this place is quiet but there's still passion here from me
and from what i remember i'm sure a few people here outclass me in that  :-*

i may be talking to a dead forum
but i wanted people to know there's still a want for it
and you can still find it here
here's hoping to some news in the future ~*`

FFX-3 Speculation and Developments / Re: Final Fantasy X-2.5 : The Truth

Woah, you guys really got cookin'! I'm very grateful you've decided to help us out, Chercheur. If you'd like anything forum-wise to be done, like exclusive translating threads that only you can see or etc, I can provide that for you.

FFX-3 Speculation and Developments / Re: Nojima Talk

If there's an X-3 announcement, I'd hope they'd yell it from the tallest towers.
There's nothing that gets people involved more than hype, and a big announcement like that would certainly stir the pot.
Look at Smash Brothers; right now, the sites and forums are rampant with speculation and activity. There hasn't been a single point where more people have been excited and actively involved in the games than now.

Imagine what this forum would look like after an X-3 announcement... I can only dream.

Providing a resuscitation is fine by me.

I haven't checked in for over a month; thought you guys would have long left. There's no more hype about it anymore. People seem to have forgotten, or moved on.
Which is sad.
I don't think the games deserve that kind of treatment, but Nojima did hit us into left field with all of this.

Well, either way.
I personally don't think they're done with Nojima's optimism for a new game. His wacky ideas they're fed up with, but the potential for a new game seems too ripe to dismiss already, especially seeing the success of the HD remaster.
It'd be the perfect introduction...

basic business would warrant some type of follow-up, especially when a creator is interested in continuation, so I won't fold my cards just yet.

With solid translations, more people and a hint of hype from SE, maybe we really can breathe life back in here.

I'm more than happy to endorse this place as a Final Fantasy X fan forum. I don't know what I can do about the name, but I'll do my best if that's what you guys decide you want to do.

Please, do advertise it around if you wish.
It's really something I'd appreciate, actually. It'd be nice for this place not to rot, and we have some nice FFX enthusiasts here already.

After all, there's nothing said about FFX-3 not being a possibility. They just said at the moment it wasn't in development. Still hope, yeah?

BOOM, like happy festival fireworks!

FFX General / What's your favourite track from the game?
« on: March 31, 2014, 08:51:55 pm »
It's hard to pick favourites from a classic OST like this, but mine would probably be Movement in Green.

Although I really do enjoy Servants of the Mountain and The Thunder Plains, too.
and Assault.
and A Contest of Aeons.
and Challenge.
and Seymour Omnis's theme.

oh forget it
this question is pointless, it'll never end.

The desire of fans aside, you do bring up a reasonable point CoL; Tidus asked Yuna to explain everything that had transpired, and regardless of whether Yuna was doing so during the narrative of the game he would've had no reason to ask her that if he had Rikku and Paine detail everything previously.

That must mean that both of them losing their memories is concrete...
but it also means that they were loving and supportive of each other even after the events in the novella, which doesn't necessarily pair up with the events in the drama that imply they were strained in their relationship due to what happened in Eternal Cost.

So Nojima has cut off the head of previously established canon and sewn a monster head in it's place.
What a scary man.

FFX-3 Speculation and Developments / Re: Your own X-3 story...
« on: March 31, 2014, 07:58:59 pm »
Well, I might as well join in the initiative.

For X-3, I would've preferred a new threat that had ties to the old threat in some ways.
The idea of beckoning truthfully isn't a bad one, but I wouldn't want the ostensible big bad to be Sin-- it has ties to old political Spira which is too brash a move to play in the conceptualization of a second sequel.
I want Yuna and co. to be free, and having Sin as the enemy from the beginning restricts that a fair bit.

I'd imagine a snowballing of sorts within the Yevon system. The game would take place give or take ten years in the future, Tidus and Yuna can have a kid or two, everybody is getting along peacefully and happily, and a small problem rises up due to some new personalities in Bevelle.
They investigate this issue as Yuna has her motherlike quality to look over people and Tidus's insatiable curiosity, and that spirals into further depth as they come to understand the motives and role these people play in the large scheme of things.

Beckoning would be involved, because that could have ties later on to older enemies who would be orchestrating the whole thing.
Not that I'm feigning cowardice of a brave new idea to drive the antagonist, but I don't think there would be insurrection or calamity in Spira after FFX-2 unless somebody from the past was irrationally vengeful at new Spira or our cast.

and I want to see Seymour be a crazy fu.cker again.
It'd be a place for reflection and introspection between whatever main cast is had, seeing how old enemies harbour stale grudges against their changed personalities.

That's spitballing, though. It's how I'd imagine it go down; something favourably along these lines.
I'd play it, at least.

So the horrible hidden beast has been revealed.

What do you guys think about that?

I understand that you took creative liberties with it, but that's not what I necessarily want posted. The raw material is jumbly and emotionless, but it's hollowness attributes to it's literal interpretation.

Filling it in with a more respectable localization perspective is a honourable task, but it's highly at your disposal. Not to disclaim any action on your part, but I'll message you about it and talk in detail.

That's not a legitimate translation.

Even though our translators didn't get far, the majority of them translated and confirmed the content regarding Tidus's death.
What he posted has nothing to do with the actual material; it's false.

Whatever beast is lurking within this novel, it's ostensibly a big one.

From everything I've read and heard regarding translations so far, there's nothing terribly offending...

...but the will to translate almost concretely dissipated with all of our recruited so far, so there must be something later on in the novella that is upsetting to a universal degree.
The only question that remains is what that beast is.

DiMaggio's voice was shaky at first, but he worked it out near the end. I think Wakka's voice would've changed after all; it's been about three years, and he's a completely changed man.

Taylor did great, a sophisticated naivete, Burgess was calm and with sorrow as in the first game, Lulu was slightly drained seeing as she's mayor, and Chuami and Kurgum were about where I placed them to be.

It's nice to hear it in English. It's not really that bad, revisiting it.

Needless to say, I'm looking forward to the next train-wreck. Aren't you?

Because this is probably the most unfortunately exciting thing that's ever happened to FFX in years.

This sums it up very well.

Attention is attention.

I've only uploaded what official translating work the two had done; nothing more past that.

There were very brief talks about the material later in the book from their own mouths, but since they were from a perspective of the reader I won't post them.

Needless to say, there is something later on in this book that seems to perturb many people.
We'll find that out soon enough; if you guys stick with the site, you shouldn't have to wait long.

Also I've never heard of a case of helpful ads.
That's interesting to know.
