@Doctor Internal Medicine - Hmm.....that is another interesting point. You know, if the Farplane is unstable, wouldn't anyone be capable of wishing for anyone they want even Sin?

Like Yuna could wish for Braska and his mother, Tidus could wish for perhaps Jecht and his mother and so on.

I guess the plot does thicken.

Most certainly so!

I believe to call someone back, however, you must have a strong bond with them, a la the bond you must have to create the final aeon.

That's why only close family members and lovers have been shown to come back,
and
well
Sin is a different case.

That's why I think Yu Yevon must've been called back, perhaps by Yunalesca,
who was called back by Lord Zaon,
who was called back by
somebody
I don't know.

Speculation, speculation, I'm sure there are ties that can be made.
Some fanatic must've wished another fanatic back and that eventually leads to Sin.

Or the entity who originally took advantage of the Farplane's unstable state might have been the Sin-caller.
Who knows?

Hmm.....you do have a point about Auron and Chuami.

What would happen if Lulu and Wakka call Chappu?

Now THAT is some thinking!

I believe it would be strange for Chappu to be called back and realize his intended wife is now married to his brother, but it could cause Lulu and Wakka to split. However, I doubt it; Chappu sounds like an understanding person, and he would most likely exist as a loving friend and presence again.

Yunalesca, what do you think about her?

There's boundless speculation to be had! People must be so shocked at the developments in the novella that they don't think it's worth speculating.
Ah, well. Hopefully they'll come around with time.

I believe Auron coming back is for sure.

Since my theory of "calling back" the dead includes having to have a strong connection and bond with the deceased who you want to beckon back, Chuami calling Auron back would prove that she is her daughter.
I believe those two will go hand in hand as plot points, and resolution towards the matter.

Braska, I hope comes back. I'd like to see his character in further depth.

Jecht is one I haven't considered an awful lot about, but it's plausible he could come back, too. Especially if Tidus wishes it.

As for Sin,
we theorize someone called back Seymour or Yu Yevon, and they called back Sin.

Nothing more than that, unfortunately.
We don't know the exact ramifications of the process of calling someone back due to no full translation on the novella.
Time will tell.

FFX-3 Speculation and Developments / Re: Things you want to see in X-3?

I haven't played FFX-2 blitzball in such a long time, so I can't touch with you on there.

Just a few months until we get the HD remaster. I wonder how the buzz is going to be then, when we get the official English audio drama and Last Mission.

Do you guys think Square is even going to mention sex in X-3? I highly doubt it. It took them years to get two of their main characters just to kiss. Square has always purposely stayed away from anything of that nature. These novels with explicit material apparently come out all the time in Japan but most of the content is ignored in the actual games. I don't see the sex-fayth method being mentioned in X-3 at all, never mind them making a plot point about Yuna sleeping with Kurugum. I guess you can argue this can happen off screen but that means they would have to explain it at some point and I don't think they'll even do that outside the novel.

Well, to be fair, it is mostly conjecture and shoddy translation work at this point.

I wouldn't doubt it, though.
It's implied Cloud and Tifa had sex in FFVII, and seeing how FFX is a darker story than most in the franchise, saddling it's story with more mature concepts isn't too out of place.

The sex-fayth theory leads to possible developments in the third game if it's made, though, which I believe is the main purpose, whether or not they actually go through with using it.

I'd like to see Maechen come back. I loved his personality and enigmatic appearances, which so contrasted with each other.

Auron, of course.
Braska would be interesting to see make a formal appearance in this game. I always liked his personality, what snippets we got of it.

Rikku and Kimahri I'd appreciate coming back as well. The influences they had upon the party were fun to note.

Who would you like to see?

Baralai is the head of the Spirian Council, yes.

Chuami and Kurugum operate under him, although we know Kurugum is also a sender and Chuami claims to be Auron's daughter.

Yuna is held in high regard as former High Summoner and now High Priestess of the Yevonites. No matter how you paint it, she's an extremely large influential figure in Spira.

Wakka and Lulu are married, and are taking care of their child. Lulu is the mayor of the town of Besaid, and Wakka helps her run the town and facilitate audiences with Yuna. They are known throughout Spira as two of the legendary guardians who accompanied Yuna, garnering them great respect as well.

Tidus is known as a Blitzball superstar, highly popular amongst the Spirian populace. He is held to the same respect as a legendary guardian as Lulu and Wakka are. He also is known to be the lover of Yuna, which summarily garners him significant attention in all three facets.

The audio drama is pretty good. I enjoyed it a lot, and the new characters are interesting. The behaviours of the other characters haven't changed and are faithful to their personalities, while still providing new developments concerning the issues presented.
The main issue was engaging and reasonable, too, and provides much information to chew and speculate on.

All in all, I'd give it an 8.5/10. It was very well presented, and deserving of thirty minutes.

Chuami and Kurugam are safe bets, but not entirely.

I think it might even be a A-B type style of gameplay, where you switch off to different parties at specified points in the narrative, each advancing their own plot until they reach a head at some point.

Auron may come back if Chuami is actually his daughter, so he might be playable.

Wakka and Lulu are possibilities if they aren't too busy managing the town/playing mom and dad.

No mention of Rikku or Paine, interestingly. Have they continued spherehunting while Yuna goes back to Yevon?

Unsents are always options as well. That unsent referenced in the novella may play a bigger part in FFX-3 if it comes out.

I really hope the Blitzball events will be in X-3. I loved playing the matches within Final Fantasy X.

Really?

I didn't like Blitzball very much. If they reformed the game a bit, then I'd give it another shot.

One thing I loved the best about FFX was it's cinematic way of presenting the character in the world through the camera.

The perspective it gave you as you traveled throughout enhanced the beauty of it's environments.
The way the camera pans around as you cross the bridge to Reniem Temple is absolutely masterful direction.

@Internal Medicine Doctor - I agree with you.

Do you think it would've worked better if this was a pre-quel game (based on the events of Jecht, Braska and Auron?)

The problem with such a game is that we all know how it was going to turn out. FFX is praised universally for it's story, and having one of it's successors be a precursor to a plot already known would be thought of as not living up to series expectations.

I personally would very much like to see a prequel with the Braskian trio.
It wouldn't have to be a ground-breaking game, or anything with huge, suspensful developments; it would be more a game to enjoy and appreciate the little nuances and details of their journey. A game that focuses more on it's gameplay and interplay between characters rather than the overall gravity of the story.

That I believe, however, is the second main roadblock to making a prequel as seen through the eyes of a SE higherup.
They'd need engaging gameplay ideals. Something not too far from the first two, but not something as to completely throw off the fan base. I don't know what direction they'd go for that, seeing as how Braska, Auron and Jecht are already rolecast in specific battle types; no new classes to invigorate the formula.

I'd still like to see a prequel, though. If done well, people would happily accept it as canon for it's smaller details concerning the journey and it would be held as not a huge advancement in Final Fantasy history but a very enjoyable detour of it's normal formula.

It makes me wonder, however, what they're going to do for FFX-3 gameplay, especially concerning the combat.

117
I believe it's a safe bet to give Kurugum a protective healer type rolecast.

Chuami is a bit more out in the open, but she'll be offensive type given her fiery personality.

Also, although it may just be me, Kurugum looks a healthy bit like Seymour, does he not?
I know people in Spira have strange hairstyles and looks, but he also looks very young to be seventeen.

118
I wonder if anyone got any further scans of that Novel?

I'm afraid the scans that were originally retrieved can no longer be viewed. It was hosted by a Japanese website, leading to my belief that it was either expired or moved to another host. If any more scans are found, I'll be sure to post them up here for public viewing and interpretation.

Also, just to clarify, this Price of Eternity novel took place after the events of X-2 and before the events of the audio drama?

Please correct me if I am wrong.

Yes, that's correct! For an official timeline of events, I'll lay out each event and the corresponding result of each in respective order:

FFX - The Eternal Calm begins, Tidus disappears.
- 2 years later -
FFX-2 - Shuyin is defeated, Tidus's pyreflies are brought back together.
????????
FFX-2.5 ~Price of Eternity~ - Tidus is killed and resurrected, the sex-fayth method is introduced, Farplane is disturbed.
-???????
FFX -Will- - Dead are being "called back" to Spira, Sin returns, Chuami and Kurugum are introduced.

That's roughly the timeline as of now. I'll update a thread with an official timeline if viewer will requests it.

119
I believe Kurugum will have the role of the second summoner in the sex-fayth method. Yuna will use him, since the occurrence of the revelation of the sex-fayth method and his character must have a connection.
Being a sender, I don't know if Kurugum will even fight; he could just be a story-intensive character. However, if he does battle, I'm sure he'll be a tactical healer as Yuna was in the first game; mainly protective spells and healing magic. It'll saddle him with a magical rod or staff of some sort.

Chuami I believe is the wildcard in this sex-fayth scenario. She'll incorporate herself in somehow and stop the deeds from taking place. Being so hotheaded and independent, she must be involved in an interruption of dogma in some way.
As such, I believe she'll use offensive talents. Magic or melee, I don't know. Perhaps even ranged, if the bill fits. I personally believe she'll lean towards melee, however. Her personality gives way to being brash and open, which makes me assume a melee fighting style.
Giving the fact that she's claiming to be Auron's daughter, she might take after his fighting style; big old sword and lots of HP. She could be a fast swordsmen a la Tidus or a ranging attacker a la Wakka, too, though, and could be a black mage a la Lulu if the melee theory is incorrect.

What do you think?
There's very little information to go on concerning their fighting styles, if they fight at all.

I personally believe they can make a good game out of what they've shown us so far. Regardless of the novella events, which I don't think are that bad, the genuine material of the audio drama makes for a few good plot points. Definitely something you can build a solid third game around.

That doesn't mean I want them going head-on barreling into it, however. I'm more hesitant, like you; I see the potential for them to make a good game, but they can always ruin it as they have previous titles.

I'm going to support any new developments regardless, however. I want to see this story finished, regardless of it's outcome, even if it may not vibe with me.
